For many years, the Middle Shooks Run Neighborhood Association has brought trees to our neighborhood to repopulate our beloved tree canopy — keeping our streets green, shaded, and true to the character that makes this place special.

This year we have two beautiful native species available for purchase by Shooks Run neighbors:

Bur Oak (Quercus macrocarpa) A majestic, slow-growing tree that can reach 45 feet and taller over time. Grand, long-lived, and perfectly suited to our climate — though it will need extra watering while getting established.

Thornless Cockspur Hawthorn (Crataegus crus-galli) A smaller, more decorative tree growing up to 25 feet, with lovely white flowers each spring. A beautiful choice for tighter spaces.

Both trees are City-approved Street Trees, meaning they can be planted in the parkway strip between the sidewalk and street, or anywhere else on your property.

Trees are 6–8 feet tall (~1″ caliper), arriving mid-April ready to plant.
