The Middle Shooks Run Neighborhood Association (MSRNA) is a volunteer-led, grassroots nonprofit dedicated to preserving and enhancing one of Colorado Springs’ most distinctive neighborhoods. Guided by our bylaws and led by an elected board, we host membership meetings, community programs, and neighborhood events that strengthen our sense of place and connection. MSRNA is a 501(c)(3) organization, and donations are tax-deductible.
Formed in the 1970s, MSRNA began when neighbors united to protect the character of the area that would become Shooks Run Park and its surrounding blocks. Today, that same spirit of care and collaboration continues to guide our efforts to celebrate our history, support one another, and steward the neighborhood for future generations.
Vision
A neighborhood that honors our past, cares for our unique place, and cultivates a sense of belonging.
Mission
We strengthen our community by facilitating social connections, leading neighborhood beautification, providing historic education, and advocating for policies that inspire residents to live, work, and stay in our neighborhood.
Core Values
Honor our Past
We celebrate and preserve the history that shapes Middle Shooks Run, recognizing that our stories and heritage give meaning to the present and guide the future.
Care for our Unique Place
We act as stewards of our neighborhood’s beauty, character, history, and shared spaces — tending to the physical and natural environment that sustains community life.
Cultivate a Sense of Belonging
We build trust and shared purpose to create a neighborhood where every resident feels known and inspired to contribute to the life of this place.
