Seeking a Treasurer

Middle Shooks Run Neighborhood Association is growing — and we need a detail-driven, trustworthy neighbor to help us build on that foundation. Last year, we became a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and a Colorado charitable organization, opening the door to stronger financial systems and room to grow. We’re looking for someone excited by that potential and ready to help build it.

About the Role

The Treasurer is an officer of the Board of Directors and plays a central role in stewarding the association’s financial resources. This is not a passive position — it’s an opportunity to shape how the association operates and serves the neighborhood for years to come.

As Treasurer, you will:

  • Maintain impeccable financial records and manage accounts
  • Prepare regular financial reports for the board
  • Lead the annual budgeting process
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit reporting and registration requirements (IRS, Colorado Secretary of State, etc.)
  • Support periodic financial reviews or audits as directed by the board

Who We’re Looking For

You don’t need to be a CPA — but attention to detail and reliability are essential. The ideal candidate is:

  • A Middle Shooks Run resident who cares about the neighborhood
  • Organized, dependable, and comfortable working with numbers
  • Interested in nonprofit finance, governance, or community development
  • Self-motivated and ready to take ownership of the role

Experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, nonprofit management, or membership organizations is a plus — but not required. What matters most is a commitment to doing the job well and helping MSRNA reach its potential.

Time Commitment

  • Monthly board meetings
  • Approximately 1–3 hours per month for routine financial tasks

Treasurers who choose to build systems and grow the role may invest more time — and can have a significant impact on the organization.

What You’ll Inherit

  • A clean transition from the outgoing Treasurer
  • A newly established 501(c)(3) structure (EIN 26-2674525)
  • A board that sets strategic direction, allowing you to focus on execution
