Creek Week Cleanup: September 30, 9am-12pm

Come join us in cleaning the creek! Middle Shooks Run Neighborhood Association will serve as crew leader for cleaning up Shooks Run (the creek) as part of Fountain Creek Watershed District’s 10th annual Creek Week celebrated across the Pikes Peak area.

Register on the morning of September 30 in North Shooks Run Park at the corner of Willamette & Franklin Streets. At the registration table, review safety procedures, sign a waiver, pick up trash bags and instructions. Recommended: sturdy footwear, gloves, long pants and a hat, fresh drinking water. We will have water to wash up if needed.

We will be cleaning the creek from Boulder Street to Uintah. Choose your favorite part of the creek or go where you’re needed the most. If going up and down the creek bank is too strenuous for you, you can pick up trash along the trail or in the park.

This is a great family activity! Children aged 5 through 17 can participate if properly supervised by adults. There needs to be at least one 21-year-old adult per 4 children under the age of 18.

If September 30 doesn’t work for you, try October 7 from 2pm-5pm, Contact: Tara McCarthy, tara@pikeride.org.
